Board Directors (Multiple), Toronto Global


Toronto Global is a non-profit organization funded by all three levels of government and a trusted partner for international companies exploring business expansion opportunities in the Toronto Region. Created in 2017, Toronto Global is responsible for attracting greenfield Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the financial and business capital of Canada. Since its inception, the organization has facilitated over 240 investments representing $3 billion in total CAPEX. These investments have led to 35,000 total jobs (direct and indirect), enabling the region to remain competitive with other global cities. Toronto Global has negotiated successful deals with leading Canadian and global organizations such as Netflix, Sanofi AI, Twitter, Reddit and Magna. The Board of Directors is made up of a dynamic group of leaders committed to promoting the region to international investors.


Toronto Global is seeking additional Directors interested in playing a central role in building a resilient economy for the future. You are a recognized local leader, having demonstrated a firm commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and are ready to support Toronto Global and the broader community through facilitation, awareness-raising and partnership-building. Expertise in advanced manufacturing, life sciences, technology, financial services, food and beverage, and clean energy as well as experience working with or in Toronto Global’s target markets (U.S., UK, Germany, India, South Korea, and Japan) are of particular interest. Additionally, prior experience in government relations is actively sought. A resident of the GTA, you bring experience at an executive level in a major public or private organization, an understanding of economic development and FDI (Foreign Direct Investment), experience working, expanding and/or developing international market access at a C-Suite level, as well as knowledge of good governance.
