Chief Brand & Business Development Officer, Girl Guides of Canada (GGC)

Toronto, ON

Hybrid

Girl Guides of Canada (GGC) is the leading organization for girls and women in Canada, with over 76,000 members across the country. Guiding provides a safe environment that invites girls and youth to challenge themselves, find their voice, meet new friends, have fun, and make a difference in the world. Girl Guides’ innovative programming is helping the next generation of girls across Canada to become confident, courageous, and resourceful leaders. Together, GGC is building a vision of A better world, by girls.

At this important juncture, Girl Guides of Canada is looking for a dynamic Chief Brand & Business Development Officer (CBBDO) with a profound excitement for telling the story of youth engagement to develop, lead and implement a compelling brand strategy that will elevate the GGC legacy brand. Reporting to the CEO, and in collaboration with the senior leadership team, the CBBDO will align the communication strategies with GGC’s goals to enhance its brand, realize its vision and bolster current revenue portfolios, fundraising campaigns, and growth strategies for members and volunteers. Specifically, the CBBDO will be responsible for the creation of all forms of media and content – ensuring consistency in messaging across all platforms and provide oversight of public relations, media, and issues management. Working closely with consultants, staff, volunteers and stakeholders, the CBBDO will also provide thoughtful mentorship to the team and lead the marketing, growth and communications teams in cultivating a consistent and inspiring brand voice and culture.

This newly created role requires a combination of strategic leadership acumen, creative thinking, superb communication, interpersonal and public-speaking skills, as well as a demonstrated passion for the mission of the organization. As the ideal candidate, you will have a bachelor’s degree Marketing, public relations or a related field with 5-7 years’ experience leading a compelling relevant legacy brand with measurable growth and positive impact. With a proven track record and expertise in digital marketing, growth acquisition, CRM platforms and analytics, sales tactics and engagement strategies, you will also have experience working within a member or stakeholder-based organization with complex levels of involvement and ability to navigate buy-in. What’s more, you will have a proven track record of cultivating high performing and highly engaged teams with a strong ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement, creativity and innovation. Bilingualism in both official languages will be considered an asset.
