Board of Directors, Fighting Blindness Canada

Leading the fight against blindness, Fighting Blindness Canada (FBC) is the largest charitable funder of vision research in Canada. By raising and stewarding funds, FBC is helping drive forward research that supports the goal of understanding why vision loss occurs, how it can be slowed and how sight can be restored.

FBC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Their Board is composed of a diverse group of healthcare professionals, researchers, lawyers, and finance experts. The Board receives counsel in making research decisions from the Board Committees, a Scientific Advisory Board, and an Investment Steering Committee.

Fighting Blindness Canada is seeking two individuals to join the Board of Directors. All new Directors will be expected to contribute seasoned leadership, community, business, and operational perspectives to FBC’s Board of Directors. FBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment that fosters belonging where diverse perspectives are represented.

This search is being co-led by Joanne McMullin and Elaine Roper of Odgers Berndtson. While we thank all those who express an interest, only those chosen for further development will be contacted. We will retain the profiles of all interested parties for our Board roster and be in touch when appropriate.
