President, BC 1 Call
Since 1994, BC 1 Call (BC1C) and its’ members have facilitated safe digging practices by equipping homeowners, contractors, and the excavation community across British Columbia with knowledge and tools to avoid damaging underground infrastructure. BC1C is a province-wide non-profit organization that provides a means to request information on the location of underground services which may be on their dig site prior to any ground disturbance.
BC 1 Call now has over 370 members, and include local and regional governments, irrigation and water districts, First Nations, oil and gas companies, and communications and energy providers, as well as many other private facility owners. BC1C continues to work at driving growth, engagement, and service excellence. Increasing users and their consistent use of BC 1 Call decreases the risk of damage incidents. By year end of 2023, BC1C had 132,399 individual registered users, up 17% from the previous year.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President is responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational and financial management, and performance of BC1C. The President will be accountable for driving membership engagement and growth, ensuring BC1C delivers value to its stakeholders and members. This is a public-facing role and will require the credibility, gravitas, and communication skills to build relationships and expand the reach of BC1C. This position has a hands-on component and will require demonstrated experience in stakeholder relations.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, and service-oriented leader. You have a strong understanding of a safety-oriented industry, coupled with expertise in an advocacy-related role. As the voice for BC1C, the ideal candidate will have experience shaping an organization's image and reputation through effective communication and stakeholder engagement. You have an appreciation for both current and future organizational needs and bring experience leading change initiatives and transformational strategies.
The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 – $190,000. Applications are encouraged immediately and should be submitted online.
