Our client is a leading North American packaging distributor. The company, across its various divisions, sources and supplies businesses in the Food and Beverage industry across North America.

 

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, the Director, Purchasing and Sourcing, will be a key member for all global vendors who supply glass, plastic, and closures to the company’s branches across North America.

 

The Director will oversee a team of Purchasing and Sourcing professionals and work collaboratively with the regional Sales teams to ensure the company’s vendor base is providing a competitive product set and excellent service to all customers across North America.

 

They will have excellent negotiation, analytical/problem solving skills and industry expertise to make data driven and technical product recommendations. They are responsible for managing vendor product offerings, quality, lead times and price to effectively support the North American market.

 

Our client seeks an outstanding Director, Sourcing and Purchasing who can seamlessly oversee the acquisition of goods and services essential for the company’s operations. The ideal candidate can optimize an organization's supply chain by developing sourcing strategies, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing processes. The ideal candidate is results-oriented and flourishes in a collaborative environment. Experience gained in a distribution environment would be considered a strong asset.

 

Technical understanding of glass/plastic/closure product set is considered a strong asset.
