The Chief Executive Officer will, with the support of a dedicated team, meet the unique needs of high value investors through the identification and cultivation of potential investors or investments, the provision of executive investor services, the development of investment strategies that include sector-specific strategies, and the provision of customized services to assist investors. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is accountable for the overall management and administration of the affairs of Invest Ontario, providing leadership to the securing of high-value domestic and global business investments that further the government’s economic development priorities. With a focus on the advanced manufacturing, life sciences and technology sectors, the CEO will work closely with domestic and international partners looking to establish or expand operations in Ontario.  

The ideal candidate is adept at navigating both the private and public sectors, seamlessly engaging with a wide range of stakeholders through a strong external presence while bringing a passion to create meaningful jobs, drive long-term economic growth, and make Ontario more competitive on the global stage. With a high level of comfort and fluency in deal architecture, they have a sharp eye for identifying opportunities and the tenacity to pursue them. They not only initiate deals but also ensure successful execution, drawing on their extensive leadership experience. This skilled leader provides stability while energizing their team for the diverse opportunities that lie ahead. With sharp political acuity, they understand the nuances of working across complex landscapes to drive meaningful results. Knowledge of Ontario’s competitive advantages for investment attraction purposes and the ability to translate those advantages into sector-specific and customized pictures to potential investors will be essential for success.
