Ocean Capital is a privately held company located in Saint John, New Brunswick with interests across several business lines, including construction, real estate and broadcasting. Ocean Capital manages its investment portfolio with the objective of delivering long-term sustainable returns and providing a rewarding environment for its people.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President-Direct Investments, the Director – Projects will be responsible, in cooperation with operating company and operating business leadership, for delivering value-add projects within the subsidiaries of Ocean Capital.
This role involves working closely with the executive teams within these subsidiaries to drive growth, innovation, and diversification of their businesses. The Director – Projects will also interact with external stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, and consultants where applicable to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with leadership to identify business improvement and growth opportunities in its operating companies.
- Deliver growth, diversification and business improvement projects in collaboration with executive teams within subsidiaries.
- Help leadership drive innovation and diversification initiatives within the subsidiaries by formulating creative solutions and thinking outside the box.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion.
- Lead the change management process ensuring smooth implementation and communication practices.
- Interact with external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to gather requirements and ensure project alignment.
- Provide regular updates and reports to Senior Leadership and the leadership of the subsidiary companies on activity and achievements.
- Develop sustainability models for enhancement projects, and monitoring to ensure success.
- Ensure projects and initiatives are aligned with the overall strategic goals.
- Mentor and support operational company leadership as required.
- Support mergers and acquisition activities when required.
Qualifications:
- Senior management experience with a proven track record of generating growth and delivering successful projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with executive teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
