The Director, Brand Development is responsible for revitalizing, growing, and evolving the company’s portfolio of iconic brands. This role drives demand creation and long-term brand strategies, transforming profitable but labouring brands into vibrant, innovative market leaders.
The Director will lead the strategic development of all brand growth initiatives and works closely with cross-functional partners to deliver integrated, impactful campaigns that engage consumers and retailers alike. This role also manages a high-performing team of Brand Managers and Associates, as well as a network of external agency strategic and creative partners, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment. The Director will unlock growth through consumer-first strategies, balancing heritage and innovation to build relevance in changing markets and unlock sustainable profitability.
The ideal candidate for the Director, Brand Development role is a visionary brand leader with a strategic mindset, strong commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of consumer behaviour. The Director will bring 10+ years of progressive experience in brand management and marketing, ideally within a Canadian-headquartered consumer brand-focused industry. They must skilfully balance heritage and innovation to revitalize and grow a portfolio of iconic brands, ensuring both relevance and profitability in an evolving market.
They will have an ability to balance brand stewardship with disruptive, agile marketing, taking mature/legacy brands into the future with meaningful innovation, category expansion, and modern storytelling.
