Chief Executive Officer, PLASP Child Care Services
PLASP Child Care Services is seeking a strategic and values-based Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead one of Ontario’s most respected not-for-profit providers of licensed childcare and early learning. PLASP programs are located in 235 schools across Peel and Toronto and a reputation built over nearly 50 years, PLASP is known for its commitment to quality, safety, equity, and inclusion. The organization serves over 13,000 children and 11,000 families, offering infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age programming that reflects the diverse needs of the communities it serves. This is a transformative time for the childcare sector, and PLASP is poised to adapt and lead in a changing environment guided by the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system.
Reporting to an engaging Board of Directors, the CEO will lead the organization through a new strategic planning process beginning in mid-2025. They will set a clear vision for PLASP’s growth and modernization - ensuring the organization continues to offer exceptional childcare while evolving its programming, systems, and structure to meet the changing needs of children, families, and educators. They will be responsible for building and sustaining productive relationships with all levels of government, service system managers, educators and other key stakeholders. The CEO will guide PLASP through operational changes, addressing workforce implications, ensuring continuous improvement while advancing quality, access, and inclusion.
The successful candidate will bring a leadership style grounded in empathy, transparency, and open communication - someone who builds trust, supports leadership development, and is comfortable connecting with front-line educators, school boards, and executive peers. With senior leadership experience in early learning, education, community services, or another complex multi-site environment, along with a track record focused on operational oversight, program innovation, and strategic execution. You bring a mindset oriented toward modernization, adaptability, and long-term sustainability. You are able to balance day-to-day operational leadership with big-picture thinking and experience with Board governance best practices. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a recognized, purpose-driven organization during a time of significant sector change. You will build on a strong foundation, working collaboratively with staff, the Board, and stakeholders to shape a future where more children and families have access to the kind of childcare that PLASP has delivered – safe, inclusive, high-quality care where children thrive.
